![]() ![]() ![]() When the trackpad not working, the first thing to do is to check if your MacBook Pro needs a software update. Click on the "Apple" menu and click on "System Preferences.". But I managed to make the trackpad work again by connecting a mouse and going into System Preferences > Accessibility > Pointer Control > Mouse and Trackpad and unchecking the option "Ignore trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present". The solution being simple, just unplug, rep lug and you are good to go. There's a slider at the bottom under "Tracking speed". Use an alternate mouse to do a complete Trackpad++ driver removal. This is still happening for me in 13.6, 11 Inch 2018 Pro. It's possible you were unaware of Apple releasing an update for your Mac's trackpad driver, the firmware, or even the entire macOS. Unresponsive trackpads can mean there's grime or a thick layer of some kind of substance on them. Removing all power source to the Magic Keyboard worked like a dream.
